A Black and White Minimalist Photograph of a Lone Dove sitting on the Walls of Jawahar Kala Kendra building. 

So, Minimalism as in Small Objects is back and I also did a similar shot long time ago at the same place. Here is that shot "Bird Vs Lines"

As you can see, I have placed the Bird in the bottom left corner of the Minimalist Frame and used Leading Lines to point at my subject aka the Lone Dove. (Leading Lines = the white marble wall edges.)

Negative Space is also a key element here. Right before shooting this, I captured the photograph of a Cat that I spotted at nearby.

When I turned back, I spotted this Lone Dove sitting on the wall.

From shooting a Cat to shooting a Dove in a matter few seconds. That is the fun part in Photography :)

Also, I had to make sure to shoot the Lone Dove quick enough, or else it would just fly away.

This Minimalist Photograph was composed on the LCD Screen to get all the alignments right. Thanks to my Canon EOS 6D Mark II Full Frame Camera that comes with fast focusing right via the LCD Screen because of its Dual Pixel focus technology.

A Minimalist Photograph of a Distant window at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur

This shot is taken from the new Cafe that has opened up at Jawahar Kala Kendra, on the 1st Floor name Cafe Quaint. 

I went there last week, just to try their menu and the wonderful Vanilla Tea that they serve. 

Of course, other than the menu, my motive was to get at a unique height or what I call "Location Advantage" to create a different sort of a frame. How else am I supposed to get a new Minimalist Photograph from Jawahar Kala Kendra aka JKK?

I have taken so many shots at JKK but just 1 or two from an elevated level. 

Hey ! are you wondering that I had actually nothing to with the Cafe and I can go to any extent to get  a Minimalist Frame from a different perspective/angle? 

Well, then guess what? Your guess is right. 

The Cafe was just an excuse ;)

There is something in this picture that I generally do not do in most Minimalist compositions and that thing is including a foreground element. 

The Green Leaves, although  blurred and out of focus, are the Highlight of the Photograph here...It is not accidental. 

To start off, I had taken similar shots avoiding the leaves, only to later realize that its the Green Leaves that make the shot and not break it.

Lines Galore

I spotted this at the backyard area of "Ravindra Manch, Jaipur" last Sunday. 

Of course it was very clear to me that I would be shooting Minimalism as Simple Geometry or Lines. 

The Lines were all over the place, because 

a) This gray wall had so many Raw Iron Bars in it 

b) The overhead Sun was creating long shadow Lines from these bars as well.

I shooting in the landscape or horizontal mode and the photos that were coming out were full of clutter. 

So I decided to shoot this in the Vertical mode or the portrait mode. That helped me to do away with a lot of clutter and I could now also add some Negative Space.

Another challenge was how to apply the Rule of Thirds. 

I pushed myself further away from the wall, that created some distance and made the bars appear smaller in size, adding to the Minimalism feel. 

Then, I placed the One Set of the Random Iron Bars arrangement along with it shadows, at the bottom of the frame applying the Rule of Thirds 

Later, I added a complimentary subject to the frame, i.e the shadows of the other set of Raw Iron Bar arrangement, just above my primary subject at the bottom.

By Not including the Actual Raw Iron bar set on the top, rather including just its shadows, I left a lot of room for imagination for the viewer. He will look at the bars at the Bottom of the frame and try and imagine a similar set of bars on top of the frame, creating the very long shadow lines.

That's pretty much how I composed this shot.

This Sunday I was invited by my photographer friend Manav, to Jawahar Kala Kendra for a Photowalk.

Initially I refused, because I had already taken many shots at that place. But because I was feeling tired to go out to a far off place, I agreed.

When I reached Jawahar Kala Kendra, my friend was already sitting with another acquaintance enjoying a cup of coffee.

Before I greeted and joined him, I took about 15 minutes of solo time searching for subjects.

It was a challenge for me, as I had already shot most part of the building. After 10 minutes I realized that I could not find anything worthwhile to frame.

So I tried going in for "creating my own subject" via "visual layering" or "overlapping of surfaces" method. Never heard of these terms before? Never mind, these are my own terms.

I stood right under the structure that had two identical floors with attached balconies, one to my left and one to my right. I started to look up and I kept moving to my right until I had Two Triangles being made by the cut/opening in the wall structure of the floor on the right.

Now, Lets look at the lines on the left. These lines were created by a similar opening in the wall of the floor on the left. If I had moved forward, then Two more similar Triangles would have been created.

Well, I let these lines just take their place in the frame. Didn't fiddle much there. 

I basically worked on the size and placement of the Two Triangles on the right, primarily by my physical movement. My movement included all four ways i.e forward, backwards, to my left and to my right.

After about 4 shots, I got the frame that I wanted. 

The Photo falls under the Minimalism Type: Simple Geometry. The Simple Geometric shapes being Triangles and Lines. 

The lens used here is Canon 100mm Prime L Series Macro Lens.

Camera Used is Canon 600D Crop Sensor.

Orange Wall and Teal Window Minimalist Color Photography

She loved, loved so truly like no other ever could. It was limitless. He betrayed her. She was so shattered and devastated that she decided not to ever love again. She built Walls all Around Her to protect herself but the walls she built were so big that she did not leave room for anyone to ever get in. Once bitten twice shy, and therefore she over-did it. She could not help it. She continues to live a lonely life. Yes, that's her story.

The photo falls under the Minimalist Photography Category: Minimalism as Less Elements. The photo contains only two elements:

a) Orange Wall and
b) The Green Window

It was very tempting to shoot the entire window, but to make it represent a person, I decided to gave it eyes, using the two black rectangles. The orange wall was dull and tricky to edit. I had to increase the vibrancy quite a bit.
