A Black and White Minimalist Photograph of a Lone Dove sitting on the Walls of Jawahar Kala Kendra building.

So, Minimalism as in Small Objects is back and I also did a similar shot long time ago at the same place. Here is that shot "Bird Vs Lines"

As you can see, I have placed the Bird in the bottom left corner of the Minimalist Frame and used Leading Lines to point at my subject aka the Lone Dove. (Leading Lines = the white marble wall edges.)

Negative Space is also a key element here. Right before shooting this, I captured the photograph of a Cat that I spotted at nearby.

When I turned back, I spotted this Lone Dove sitting on the wall.

From shooting a Cat to shooting a Dove in a matter few seconds. That is the fun part in Photography :)

Also, I had to make sure to shoot the Lone Dove quick enough, or else it would just fly away.

This Minimalist Photograph was composed on the LCD Screen to get all the alignments right. Thanks to my Canon EOS 6D Mark II Full Frame Camera that comes with fast focusing right via the LCD Screen because of its Dual Pixel focus technology.

These shots were taken at Cafe Lazy Mojo in Jaipur. I was there for an Art Meet organized by Kala Kartavyaa.

The Art meet was actually on Fashion and the theme was Lifestyle.

Fashion Bloggers/ Models and Photographers were invited to the meet.

I dint have much to do there.

I got a few tips on Fashion and soon I was done listening.

I was getting itchy to click, so I moved outside with my Camera.

I had my Canon 100 mm Prime Macro L Series Lens mounted on my Canon 600D Camera that day.

So I thought why not take some Look-up Minimal Shots.

Cafe, Lazy Mojo has this Pete Mondrian Style designed roof front.

I thought it would be a nice Idea to click some "Minimalism as Few Distinctive Colors" shots.

This category of Minimalist shots are always hard to find.

While, I was editing, I decided to post a series of 3 shots this time, unlike my style of posting only 1 best shot from the shoot.

Since, it was about colors, therefore I chose 3.

The composition of the Shots is pretty simple  and self-explanatory.

Nothing much to say here. The major part is to find the Subject/Building with multiple colors and more than half of the job is done for you.

Apply a few basic rules of Photography like the Rule of Thirds etc and you are good to go.

Hope, that you enjoyed the shot.

Show me yours :)

Good Day !

Balance of Nature

Minimalism as Few Distinctive Colors

Black is the color of death and negative news. Yellow is the color of the sun and represents vitality and strengthens the nerves and the mind. This photo perfectly depicts the balances built within nature.

One extreme is offset by the other. Days are followed by nights and bad times by the good. Everything is brought to a point of balance. The artist who painted this sub-consciously knew about this fine balance. I just loved the beauty of it.

When shooting Minimalism as few Distinctive Colors make sure you capture the intersection point or the point where most colors meet. Later, apply a few rules of photography. Lines act as a bonus here. I got lucky on this one and I wish the same for you.

A Black and white Minimalist Photo of the Side view snippet of an old traditional builing at Johari bazaar, Jaipur

Primary intention here is to show lines and the geometry in the structure. This Shot was captured at one of the most famous Bazaars (or shopping market) of Jaipur i.e "Johari Bazaar".

Johari Bazaar is host to some of the best Jewelry in the city. The traditional architecture is a key highlight of the Jewelry market and a lot of tourists come here for its admiration. Of course the classic and ever so unique jewelry designs are a must to explore by any tourist visiting Jaipur city.

Placing the subject was a little tricky. I had to tilt and re-adjust the camera multiple times to get the frame that I wanted. The tip is, never to be satisfied with just one shot. Try and take multiple shots from different angles.

Another reason to take multiple shots is, when you open some shots on your computer screen, they look entirely different from what you saw on LCD screen while shooting.

Hope you enjoyed this Black and White Minimalist Photograph.

Stay tuned for more.

Black and White Minimalism

Minimalism Type: Less Elements

Black and White Minimalist Photography using Less Elements and Negative Space to amplify the attention on the subject.

To compose, I placed the subject on the right, where I have primarily  interpreted the subject as intersecting lines. The torn hanging cloth adds to a bit of a story or lets say art effect to the image. To Edit this and make it look this way, one needs to simply slide up both the contrast and the brightness slider. The contrast slider a lot more, that makes the background almost disappear and makes the subject stand out. Note: don't overdo it but.

Right angled Triangle Vs the Square

Minimalist Photography as Simple Geometry

A Black and White Minimalist Photograph of a Right angled Triangle and a Square at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur

I have used light and shadow here to highlight the geometry in the frame. The core of the photograph involves two simple geometric shapes.

a) Square and
b) Triangle.

Also, if you observe closely, there is another square being formed within the primary square, because of the light and shadow game-play. The shadow triangle on the bottom left acts as the supporting actor like in films, for the main lead i.e the Square.

Keeping the photo to monochrome is always preferable when shooting Minimalist Photography as Simple Geometry as all the shapes and lines get accentuated. The visual impact as a result is better.

Other Minimalist Photos that also contain a Square:

- Circle Square Waves

- Lines Vs Square

- White Square

- 10 Squares
