A Corner Shot of a Pink Wall, with a Black Wire running across and with an Iron Pole in the foreground.

OK, so I am back with a Colored Minimal Art Photograph. I just surprised myself with that to be honest.

Someone told me today, that I am not putting up enough Minimal Art Photos lately. Well, that is kinda true, as I am currently exploring Street Photography to basically reset my vision for Minimalism. If you want to have a look at some of my Street Photographs, head over to my Instagram Profile and check the "street photos" highlights section there https://www.instagram.com/prakashghai/

Coming back to the Minimalist Photograph posted above, it is easy to spot my love for Geometry. The Iron Bar is a Straight Line forming a Triangle and the Black Wire running across, is a curve. The edge of the wall is also a Vertical Line and of course, and the Shadow of the Wire enhances the frame. Oh ! and did I forget to mention the striking Pink Color of the wall? (all elements of minimalist photograph)

So, now you got it, isn't it?  This is how I keep Photos simple and yet make them subtly interesting.

The EXIF Data of the Photo is as follows:

  • Camera Model: Canon EOS 6D Mark II

  • Lens: Canon 24-105 mm Prime Lens

  • F-stop: f/8

  • Shutter Speed: 1/ 800 sec.

  • ISO speed: ISO-100

  • Focal Length: 56 mm

  • Metering mode: Spot

  • Exposure program: Manual

Hope you enjoyed the The Tight Corner Minimalist Photograph.

Thank you for your time. Have a Nice Day. !

Electric Meter Surrounded by Pink

Minimalism as Less Elements

Minimalist Photo of an Electricity Meter on a Pink Wall

Welcome to my New Blog-post

Because I am posting more of Colorful Minimalism lately, here is another Picture that depicts pure color i.e the color Pink.

To keep the image Minimalist, I have given the Pink Color a lot of space in the frame. Also note that following the Rules of Minimalism, I have carefully chosen this particular Electric Meter as it is placed on a Simple Geometric shape or A Square.

That property, makes the picture even more Minimal, other than the Negative space and the Less Elements aspect.

Make sure you don't end up being too close to the subject in such shots. Distance is key here. Distance will make sure that the subject looks surrounded or engulfed by the Pink Color.

Another Detail that I would like to point out in the composition is, The Curved Blue Cable going to the right and its respective shadow. Without this cable in the frame, the photograph would have lacked the punch it needed to be here in the blog post.

Hope you enjoyed the observations.

Curves are beautiful and they are even more attractive when accompanied by the Pink color

Pink as a color, is also closely associated with: Freshness, Youth, Love, Beauty, Femininity etc.

Curves on the other hand find extensive use in Modern Design. They play an important role today in Automobile Design, Furniture Design, Glass-wear,  Product Design etc.

A Combination of the two is way to tempting to ignore. For example the Pink iPhone 6s. That particular color of the iPhone had way too much demand and was quick to go out of stock at India's largest e-Tailer Flipkart

Composition of the Photo

The photo falls under the Minimalism as Less Elements category. There is only one element in the frame i.e The Pink Curve. This a look-up shot taken at a very close range via Canon 50mm F1.4 Lens. The closeness helped me eliminate any distracting elements from the frame and enabled me to achieve extremely narrowed focus on the subject and enhanced visual clarity.

The One-tone Minimalism is one of the best kinds of Minimalism in Photography. It ends up being fairly soothing and appealing to the eye. Go find a large single colored wall, then look for geometry and shapes on it. Keep your eyes wide open. It is easy to ignore such plain simple walls
Even white walls are good and if you do not like the color, you could always convert the photo into black and white and thus add an artistic feel to it.

If you have any similar mono-tone Minimalist Photos with you, please do share a link to them in the comments section below.  Don't forget to subscribe to our blog posts. Enter your e-mail Id in the box on the top right corner.

Thank You !
Have a nice day Photographers / Readers.

A Minimalist Photograph of a Brown clay pot against a pink wall.

This Minimalist Shot was taken at Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, Jaipur. Opposite to Jawahar Kala Kendra, there is a lane that goes towards Jhalana Doongri.

Right at that corner, there are a few kiosks for food, tea and cigarettes. It was a holiday that day. This cigarette shop or "Pan Ki Thadi" (as we call it in Hindi) was located near those food shops. The shop was closed being a holiday and I liked the Pink Shutter of it a lot.

Just next to this Pan Shop, there was a handmade clay pottery shop. One of the Clay Pots was set aside, maybe because it was broken from the bottom or something. The Clay Pot was found sitting idle right in front of the closed Pan Shop, that had this beautiful pink colored metal shutter.

The isolated Clay Pot contrasted so well against the pink shutter of the closed Pan Shop that I had to stop and take a shot of it. The set up was perfect as I had loads of Negative Space on the left to compose a classic Minimalist Photograph. I literally, went down on my knees for this one.

Also note, that there is an Abstract Shadow Triangle on the left and the Three Simple Vertical Lines on the closed shop shutter, adds brilliantly to the Minimalist Frame.

I did try a Black and White version of this shot and I had also posted it on my Facebook timeline, because Minimalist Photos looks extremely good in Black and White, But later, I reverted to the Original Irresistible Pink Color. Pink won hands down.

The Photo falls under Minimalism as Less Elements category of Minimalist Photography.
