A Colorful look up Minimalist Photograph of Three Windows of a residential apartment in Jaipur City, against clear blue skies.

This is a very old Minimalist Shot that I captured on 30th November 2014. I used to have a Crop sensor Camera back then. It was Canon EOS 600D. The lens I used to carry was the Canon 55-250 mm telephoto lens.

This Look up photograph was captured when I was coming home from Tonk Road. I remember there was this huge building right opposite Imli Phatak railway crossing and I was on my Activa Scooter with the Camera hung around my neck. I stopped right outside the building and pointed my Camera upwards to capture a few shots.

Soon, I realized that I could make a nice Minimalist Color palette using the Olive Green wall and the Blue Sky as base colors.

Therefore, I captured the Image in such a way that the entire frame was split in two sections by the White Strip. One being the Olive Green section and the other one of the clear Blue Sky.

To bring in more symmetry and order in the frame I carefully placed only Three Windows on the Olive Colored Section. To make sure there wasn't any clutter I zoomed in further to crop out extra windows/pipes. I captured this photograph hence at 116 mm.

The Windows are open because the building was not fully constructed, only final touches were left. There were no birds flying around or I could have waited for one to fly in the frame. That would have been fun. In case you have a thing for birds in photographs then you can check my "Minimal Birds" collection in my Fineartamerica / Pixels web store.

The EXIF Data of the Photo is as follows:

  • Camera Model: Canon EOS 600 D

  • Lens: Canon 55-250 mm Prime Lens

  • F-stop: f/5.6

  • Shutter Speed: 1/1500 sec.

  • ISO speed: ISO-100

  • Focal Length: 116 mm

  • Metering mode: Pattern

Black and White Minimal Art Photograph of Birds Sitting on the Patterned Side Rail of a wall at Diggi Palace Jaipur.

These pictures were taken during the Jaipur Literature Festival 2019. I had my Canon EOS 6D Mark II full frame Camera with me that day.

I was waiting for a friend of mine to join me for a session. While I was waiting, I spotted these birds on the Patterned Side Rails of the wall near me. I was at a distance but that was not an issue, as I had the Telephoto 24-105 mm Lens with me. I zoomed a bit to captured these, and that you can see in the EXIF Data provided below. One of these shots were taken at 91 mm and the other one at 70 mm. On most occasions, I only put up a single shot from the series ie the best one, but here, I decided to put two.

A looking up Minimalist Photograph of Blue Sky and Brown Walls with lots of negative/empty Space. Photo captured at Jawahar Kala Kendra Jaipur (JKK), Rajasthan, India.

This structure is near the main two Art Galleries at JKK. My intention here was, to capture the walls of the structure in such a way that it forms/represents Lines aka some Simple Geometry, and to show the Clear Blue Sky in the background as Negative Space. (the perfect Minimalist Photography setup)

Also note, I tilted the Camera in my hand (a little bit) to get the right kind of balance between the Lines and Wall structure, and the Overall Frame.

What I got as a plus here was the Shadow Triangle :)

The EXIF Data of the Photo is as follows:

  • Camera Model: Canon EOS 6D Mark II

  • Lens: Canon 100 mm Prime Lens

  • F-stop: f/7.1

  • Shutter Speed: 1/1250 sec.

  • ISO speed: ISO-100

  • Focal Length: 100 mm

  • Metering mode: Spot

  • Exposure program: Manual
