A Black and White Minimalist Photograph of a Chair and Two Windows inside Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur (India).

This Minimalist Photograph is the 2nd shot from the same location. The first shot was this one:
  Chair against the Window

In the first shot, I included just the chair on the left and the window above it. Then, for this Photograph, I moved further back, so that I could include the window on the right as well, aka get both the windows in the same frame.

Moving back was my only option as I was on a 50mm prime lens. I was standing and this shot was captured at eye-level.

Now, lets also take a look at the Technical Data of the Photograph.

The EXIF Data of the Photo is as follows:

  • Camera Model: Canon EOS 6D Mark II

  • Lens: Canon 50 mm Prime Lens

  • F-stop: f/6.3

  • Shutter Speed: 1/250 sec.

  • ISO speed: ISO-10000

  • Focal Length: 50mm

  • Metering mode: Spot

  • Exposure program: Manual

A Black and White Minimal Art Photograph of Long Shadow of Railing Vs a Part of a Bicycle Tyre.

I spotted the Long Shadow of the Railing first and then I included a part of the Bicycle Tyre to the bottom right of the frame, leaving a lot of negative space on the left.

This ain't Parts of the Whole Minimalism (because of just the part of a Bicycle Tyre), but rather Minimalism as Less Elements

When I don't find subjects, I try and create newer ones from the elements available on the streets.

This picture from Johari Bazaar, Jaipur, is an example of such a frame. I wish I could travel outside Jaipur, so that I can click newer shots with newer elements and backdrops. I have been shooting Minimalism in Jaipur for 5 years now. Somehow me travelling outside to shoot hasn't happened yet.
Hopefully Soon enough.

The EXIF Data of the Photo is as follows:

  • Camera Model: Canon EOS 6D Mark II

  • Lens: Canon 50 mm Prime Lens

  • F-stop: f/4

  • Shutter Speed: 1/1600 sec.

  • ISO speed: ISO-100

  • Exposure bias: 0 step

  • Focal Length: 50 mm

  • Metering mode: Spot

  • Flash mode: No flash

  • Exposure program: Manual

  • White Balance: Auto

Albert Hall Tower

Minimalism as Low Detail

This Albert Hall Tower Photograph was shot on a Rainy Day. This image is actually a water reflection image of the Tower along with the flying birds as seen in the reflection.

I have flipped the image upside down.

The Photo falls under the Minimalism as Low Detail category of Minimalism. The elements are clearly less and the detail is low, some parts are left to users imagination.

I am posting a photo of Minimalism as in Low Detail after a long Time. You feedback will be good to have.

Hello All !

I am back with a Minimalist Photograph. This time I chose Black and White Photograph over Colored one, for I haven't posted a decent Black and White Minimalist Photo in a while.

So lets quickly get to the Photograph.

The Photo above of The Water Sprinkler, falls under the Minimalism as Less Elements Category. The Elements being the Grass, the Fence, and The Water Sprinkler playing a small little guest appearance :)

I clicked this photograph from an over-bridge, looking down from the top. The angle was a unique one indeed. This place is a garden maintained at the back-side of a famous Hotel in Jaipur.

One usually doesn't get access to such places, so an Over-bridge is a nice idea.

OK, So while I was taking the shot, I spotted a guard walking around the open garden. I was planning initially, to take a Minimalism as in Small Objects photograph by showing the guard small in size relative to the vast open garden. But, that didn't happen, as in the shots that I took, the placement and the shape of the guard dint come out the way I wanted to.

So, I switched to Plan B, ie. Shooting this shot under the Minimalism as Less Elements, without the guard.

I took a Colored Shot of the above Garden field to begin with but that came out pretty flat

The Water Sprinkler firing, also wasn't visible in that shot.

In my next try, I tried to time the spray of The Water Sprinkler. I wanted to place it nicely according to the rule of thirds on the right of the frame. A couple of shots down I placed it right where I wanted to. I let it move a little towards the center for the frame. That's it, I was happy then and I moved on to my next location.

Today, I was just a different mood, so instead of sharing the work in Colored, I converted the Photograph into Black and White and I liked that more so I Posted that. Hope you enjoyed the little behind the scenes action.

See you all next post.
